Review Policy

The Jurnal Penelitian Sosial Ilmu Komunikasi applies a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of each submitted manuscript. Both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the review process.

  1. Initial Screening
All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the editorial team to ensure compliance with the journal’s scope, formatting requirements, and ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet the basic criteria may be returned to the authors without review.

  2. Peer Review Process

    • Manuscripts passing the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.

    • The review process is double-blind: reviewers do not know the authors’ identity, and authors do not know the reviewers’ identity.

    • Reviewers assess manuscripts based on originality, relevance, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and significance to the field of communication and social sciences.

  3. Decision Making
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief will decide whether the manuscript is:

    • Accepted as is

    • Accepted with minor revisions

    • Accepted with major revisions (subject to re-review)

    • Rejected

  4. Revision Process
Authors are expected to respond to reviewers’ comments and revise their manuscripts accordingly. The revised version may be sent back to the same reviewers for further evaluation if necessary.

  5. Ethical Considerations
The journal adheres to publication ethics as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Any detected cases of plagiarism, data falsification, or other forms of misconduct will result in rejection of the manuscript and possible sanctions.

  6. Review Timeline
The typical review process takes 4–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript. Authors will be notified promptly of the editorial decision.
